Before we start this course, we will first look at what will be covered during the training. The course is dived into categories and in each category, there are a number of videos. You can pause and watch again any video on the course. We update our courses regularly and you will be able to see the replacement and new videos as they are released.

You work through the course videos in order and to give you an idea of what the course will cover, the categories and videos on this course are:

Macronutrients and Micronutrients. Macronutrients are proteins, fats and carbohydrates and micronutrients are vitamins and minerals. Fluids, hydration and dehydration are also covered in this course and the importance of these are explained.

One category within this course talks about nutrition and malnutrition. This course talks specifically about nutrition and the elderly, cholesterol, allergic reactions and food poisoning.

In this course, we also talk about food groups; fruits and vegetables, bread, cereals and starchy foods and milk and dairy.

Different diets are covered, such as; gluten-free foods, healthy diets, IBS diets, and diets for people with dementia. These diets are now very common so it is good to have a clear understanding of the different foods required for different people.
